Coalition Umwana ku Isonga in partnership with Plan International Rwanda on Sida funds support through a project called “Strengthening Child Protection and SRHR in Rwanda” in which CUI implement activities related to influencing laws and policies at National Level, organized a retreat of gathering views that will serve as a contribution to the drafting of the ministerial order determining modalities for taking care of the health and welfare of a child with special issues namely children with disabilities and refugee children.
This retreat took place from 1st to 3rd March 2022 in Musanze at Best View Hotel. It gathered CUI members, stakeholders and allies from civil society organizations.
The main objective of the retreat was to grab the opportunity of influencing legal framework on children rights through providing views to Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion that will be considered in process of drafting the ministerial order determining modalities for taking care of the health and welfare of a child with special issues.
At the end of the three days, the team came up with its inputs to the draft ministerial order which the Coalition Umwana ku Isonga Secretariat submitted to the Ministry of Gender and Family promotion for their consideration when drafting the order.
