Coalition Umwana ku Isonga is a unique and dynamic National Coalition about child rights which is made of 23 member organizations. Since its creation in 2010, CUI elaborated various programs that focus on promoting child rights and child protection through advocacy.
CUI has made tremendous achievements in conducting advocacy activities on child rights promotion and protection to the children of Rwanda. Today we are proud of our contribution towards the achievements made so far in the area of Child protection, Fighting Violence against children and SGBV, and capacity building of CUI members.
Beside the capacity building of CUI members in different topics such as working with human rights treaty bodies, UNCRC, ACRWC and UPR, Right based approach, Child governance and budgeting for children, the programmatic coordination of efforts of CUI has been observed during reporting process. CUI has prepared UNCRC and ACRWC alternative reports with involvement of all members and children from member organizations. Coalition Umwana ku Isonga has a collaboration with different key public institutions dealing with 5 thematic areas of UNCRC at local and National level and will continue to increase its visibility by working and engaging with key public institutions which are in line with the protection of children including but not limited to the National Commission for Human Rights, Ministry of Gender and family promotion, National Commission for Children and Ministry of Justice Department of International and Judicial Cooperation Department.
